Founded in 1950, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra has grown from amateur beginnings to its current position as the largest professional performing arts organisation in Canberra and the surrounding region. Unique among professional orchestras in Australia, the CSO is led by an Australian Chief Conductor & Artistic Director, Dr Nicholas Milton.

Mental as Anything

These guys were originally a group of art students who passed themselves off as a band in order to con the local publican into giving them a gig in exchange for free beer. The deception worked better than intended and the group came to be known as Mental as Anything.
Nearly two decades later, they are still irritating/entertaining the public with their highly listenable, idiosyncratic brand of garage pop.
